Water Quality

Given that your cold plunge uses a relatively small volume of water, monitoring water quality is critical. Although the Yirri comes with an in-built filtration and sanitisation system, the water can degrade more quickly depending on a variety of factors:

• Entering Sweaty or Dirty: Always rinse off before using the cold plunge to prevent contamination of the water.
• Dirty Feet: Ensure your feet are clean before stepping in.
• Chlorination: Chlorinating the water can help extend its lifespan. The best practice is to leave the Cooling Engine running at your desired temperature 24/7 to maintain optimal performance.

Filter, Strainer, and Water Maintenance

Perform these maintenance steps every 10-20 uses. It’s essential not to exceed 20 uses or 4 weeks (whichever comes first) without maintenance.

• Replace the filter cartridge. Filter cartridges cannot be cleaned and must be replaced.
• Clean the strainer. If your Yirri is equipped with valves on the tub, you can perform this maintenance without replacing the water. However, it’s recommended to replace the water during other maintenance tasks.

Timber Maintenance

The Yirri Cedar’s exterior timber is raw, untreated Western Red Cedar. It is naturally durable, but without proper care, it will fade, crack, and change colour over time. This is normal and will not impact the Yirri’s performance.

If you’d like to preserve a fresh timber appearance, we recommend oiling your tub every 6-12 months with a natural decking oil. The timber will darken once oiled.

Dusty Environment

If your Yirri’s chiller is in a dusty environment or if it’s not cooling as effectively, it may require internal cleaning. Dust can accumulate on the radiator inside the chiller, significantly affecting its efficiency. Cleaning the unit will help maintain smooth operation. • Cooling Engine won’t turn on: Check that the power point is working and ensure the RCD on the back of the Cooling Engine is switched on.
• PL Error (Flow Rate Error): Check that the valves are open. Clean the filter and strainer to remove any blockages. Ensure there are no obstructions at the inlet or outlet.
• E3 Error (Ambient Air Temperature Too High): Turn off the Cooling Engine and allow it to cool down before restarting.
• E6 Error (Ambient Air Temperature Too Low): The unit will resume normal operation once the air temperature rises. If temperatures approach 0°C, drain all water to prevent freezing.
• Cooling Engine won’t start pumping after maintenance: Ensure the Cooling Engine is switched off before performing maintenance. When powering the unit back on, it will prime automatically.
