The Ancient Greeks used ice baths. Hippocrates, in the 4th century BC, documented the use of cold water for “medicinal purposes and analgesic benefit”. The Ancient Romans used them too. Cold therapy or cryotherapy, has been used in traditional healing throughout time by civilisations all over the world. In the 1960s, scientists started exploring the use of cryotherapy to aid recovery from sports, research that continues to verify that Hippocrates was right all along.

WHERE CAN MY ICE BATH BE PLACED?

  • The Yirri tub can be located outdoors or indoors in a wet area.
  • It requires a hard, level surface capable of supporting up to 500k.
  • The area must be very well-ventilated, with at least 50cm clearance behind the chiller fan for ventilation.

As part of our end-to-end service, Found—Space trained technicians deliver and install your Hormetic technology into your home or business and this service is included in our pricing. We deliver and install your product for you wherever you live and into almost any area of the house, provided it fits the product installation requirements. And, if you move house, we can move the sauna for your too. Our technicians are professionally trained to best serve you. This service is provided anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.

We recommend servicing your ice bath every 12 months for optimal performance and longevity.

EASY EMPTYING

There is no need to empty the ice bath between uses. And if you are using it frequently we recommend keeping it filled. However, when it does need emptying, the unit connects to a regular garden hose and can be emptied in minutes.

Timing is everything with cold water therapy. We’ve built our ice bath with an adjustable phone cradle so you can keep track of time and temperature during your session, or perhaps watch funny cat videos to distract you.

The Found—Space Ice Bath can be located indoors or outdoors. All it needs is a flat level surface capable of supporting up to 500kg. It's also important that the location of the ice bath is very well ventilated and allows a clearance of 50cm behind the chiller.

Built to Last

The Ice bath is built around a 135cm long and 730cm deep tub made from 1.5mm 316 stainless steel so it is corrosion and rust-resistant. The tub is connected to a 0.8hp chilling unit with an ozone sterilisation system and a 20-micron replaceable cartridge filter (3 cartridges supplied). The chiller unit runs off a regular 10 amp power point and can chill the water down to 3°C.

And it had to look great so you wouldn’t need to hide it away between uses. This is why the Found—Space Ice Bath is wrapped in Japanese Cedar Timber panels, pre-oiled with all-natural decking oil, and comes with an insulated cover with lockable clips.
